OUR STAFF

Consultants

Entry qualifications and experience cover Law, Science, HSE practice, and project management. Consultants (on the payroll, and working under contract) are required to maintain a detailed understanding of environment, health and safety issues as they affect industry and commerce in many parts of the world. Consultants each have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, which has been obtained in the public and the private sector – including previous work as a regulator, or a government policy-maker.

Trainees and Professional Development

In-house schemes provide web programming skills, practice with HSE laws, skill development in Russian, German, French and other languages, and further instruction on regulatory analysis and intelligence gathering. All staff are encouraged to study for Chartered Environmentalist (www.iema.net), NEBOSH (www.nebosh.org.uk), chartered CIWEM (www.ciwem.org.uk), CIEH (www.cieh.org) or other relevant professional qualifications. Specific in-house schemes exist for graduates and young people.

Teamwork & IT

Client work is carried out in project teams, and is underpinned by electronic working, IT communications and IT control of email, working documents, and final deliveries. All projects have assigned project managers (who may or may not be client-facing), and are regulated by the Back Office Supervisor (a senior project managing Consultant). R&D work is also project based, and comes under the control of the R&D Director (a company director) who is the overall Managing Director and works with the Technical & Operations Director.

Quality Assurance & ISO 9001

Quality control is achieved at individual, project and company level via adherence to detailed written company procedures, supported by a detailed process of work monitoring, audit and corrective action that extends to all areas of project work and client communications. Company procedures are compliant with the ENO ISO 9001 standard (www.iso.org), and make extensive use of IT and training in work checking to keep error levels to a minimum.
